Giving

We give, in the first place, being impelled by the generosity of Jesus in the gospel:

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)

We also recognise that we give out of what we have, ourselves, been given,

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” (1 Chronicles 29:14)

Therefore we encourage giving cheerfully, generously, thoughtfully, regularly and proportionately (1 Corinthians 16 and 2 Corinthians 8 and 9). Giving financially to meet the expenses of the church is a key part of Membership.
